About
Handmaiden Music is a creative community of devout Catholics vocationally called to the creation and preservation of sacred music for the glory of God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ, the honor of the Blessed Virgin, and the strengthening of the Church.
Founded and curated by composer and performer, Gretchen Wolaver, Handmaiden Music is a work consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and seeks to reawaken a sense of reverence, devotion, love and awe in the heart of the faithful.
A consummate musician on the guitar, mandolin, and violin, as well as a songbird soprano, Gretchen is an artist from Nashville, TN. She has toured for almost twenty years as part of the acclaimed Annie Moses Band, a classical-folk ensemble with record-breaking PBS specials, chart topping classical-crossover albums, and an Emmy nomination to their credit. The Annie Moses Band also happens to be comprised of Gretchen’s family.
In Easter of 2013, Gretchen and her entire family joined the Catholic Church. This propelled the greatest pursuit of her life: a musical offering devoted to Jesus Christ through the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
The Chaplet of Divine Mercy, the debut project of Handmaiden Music, is now available.
